MyBarSales.com April Revenue Report – COVID – 19 impact on the restaurant industry
MyBarSales doesn’t have to inform you that the coronavirus is affecting the restaurant industry. We can however provide you with the actual data. Instead of anecdotal information, we will provide the exact amount of pain that coronavirus is inflicting the State of Texas.
The bad news:
• Sales in April came in at $43 million, a decrease of 93% from a year ago
• All major cities and counties were lower by more than 80%
• Restaurants are closing
The good news:
• Texas is opening up
• Restaurants are finding new ways to increase revenue
• People will be eating outside with less restrictions in place
MyBarSales provides revenue data at the end of each month. This month we have reported April revenue, therefore, we will be providing May information at the end of June.
Austin Sales Decrease 96% in April
The most recent MyBarSales report showed Austin with a decrease of 96% over the last month (vs. the previous year). With the decrease in sales, Austin is down 50% in the last 3 months and lower by 6% in the last 12 months (vs previous year). Top bars and restaurants include Palm Door, El Arroyo Cafe, Matts El Rancho, Jardin Corona, Flores Mexican Restaurant.
Dallas Sales Decrease 94% in April
Dallas alcohol sales are down more than 94% over the last month (vs. the previous year). With the decrease in sales, Dallas is lower by 46% in the last 3 months and lower by 33% in the last 12 months. Top bars and restaurants include Mesero Mexican Menu, Food Company, Mesero, Grange Hall and E-Bar Tex Mex.
Houston Sales Decrease 93% in April
Houston alcohol sales are lower by more than 93% over the last month (vs. the previous year). With the decrease in sales, Houston is down 45% in the last 3 months and down 8% in the last 12 months. The top establishments include El Tiempo, Bovine, Lakeside Country Club, Back Street Cafe, Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen.
